Let yourself be transported to old England, where music could express the enchantment of love, sorrow, and playful humour with equal eloquence. The Belgian ensemble Musica Gloria and countertenor Pieter De Praetere will present a programme entitled Music for a While, dedicated to the works of Henry and Daniel Purcell and Tobias Hume. The voice will blend with the distinctive timbres of the Baroque oboe, recorders, viola da gamba, and harpsichord. Under the artistic direction of Beniamino Paganini and Nele Vertommen, the world of English songs and instrumental music will come to life, where refinement meets natural vitality. The intimate ensemble allows every detail to shine, highlighting the interplay between voice and instruments. An evening filled with imagination, tenderness, and musical wit will remind us how close music from centuries past can still feel.
Musica Gloria:
Nele Vertommen – baroque oboe, recorder
Barbara Hünninger – viola da gamba
