The concert “The Soul of the Baroque” at the Church of St George in Brušperk offers an encounter with music that unites spiritual depth, human emotion, and the extraordinary beauty of Baroque expression. Bringing together outstanding personalities from the Moravian-Silesian region—the young-generation vocal talent Karolína Levková, the internationally acclaimed clarinetist Igor Františák, and piano virtuoso Marek Kozák—the evening presents them in an unusual chamber trio configuration.
Their sound, both delicate and richly coloured yet deeply expressive, is shaped by the use of the historical wind instrument chalumeau and the organ. The programme connects leading figures of European Baroque—Bach, Handel, and Zelenka—with less frequently performed composers and the Czech spiritual tradition of Adam Václav Michna. Arias from operas, oratorios, and sacred works here are not merely musical numbers, but personal testimonies of faith, hope, and human fragility. The exceptional combination of soprano, chalumeau, and organ creates a unique sonic poetry in which lyricism, meditative calm, and dramatic expression converge.
