Three female voices, a harpsichord, and music that invites both quiet contemplation and joyful wonder. The vocal trio Drei Engel – sopranos Markéta Klaudová and Pavla Radostová and alto Lucie Karafiátová – will join forces with harpsichordist Jiří Havrlant in a programme entitled Guardian Angels. Works by Handel, Zelenka, Schütz, and Monteverdi will open up the diverse world of vocal music from the early and high Baroque periods. The transparent blending of voices will give way to expressive solo passages and lively musical dialogues. Each composer offers a unique perspective on human emotions and spiritual experience – from humble supplication to jubilant celebration. As Advent approaches, the final concert of the subscription series will offer a moment to pause and experience the beauty of the human voice.
