The song recital by young baritone Lukáš Bařák, a soloist of the National Theatre, and piano virtuoso Marek Kozák, laureate of the Jiří Bělohlávek Prize and one of the most prominent Czech pianists of the new generation, will offer an intimate evening in the Knights’ Hall of the Frýdek Castle, where poetry, lyricism, and pianistic virtuosity come together. The programme spans Central European music of the 19th century—from the intimate lyricism of Schubert and Schumann through Chopin’s and Smetana’s piano gems to the emotional immediacy of Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs and Janáček’s Moravian Folk Poetry in Songs. Bařák’s cultivated voice, clarity of diction, and sense for dramatic arc naturally merge with Kozák’s colourful, technically assured, and deeply lyrical piano playing.
