Ensemble Inégal, together with its conductor Adam Viktora, has gained European recognition thanks to its highly acclaimed concerts and CD recordings, and has become synonymous with the rediscovery of the legacy of the brilliant Czech Baroque composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. Ensemble Inégal is a versatile musical ensemble whose interpretative scope ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary repertoire. In addition to early music, the ensemble has also presented innovative performances and recordings of Romantic works (e.g. A. Dvořák, G. Rossini) and modern composers (B. Britten, A. Pärt, A. Schnittke, Ph. Glass).
The ensemble performs at prestigious European festivals such as Prague Spring, Musica Antiqua Brugge, Oude Muziek Utrecht, the Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music London, De Bijloke Ghent, Early Music Festival Stockholm, Bachfest Leipzig and many others. It has released 25 successful CD recordings, which have received numerous distinguished awards (Diapason d’Or, IRR Outstanding, Goldberg 5 Stars, among others). Ensemble Inégal also appears regularly on Czech and international radio and television broadcasts (BBC, the European Broadcasting Union – EBU, Czech Television, Deutschlandradio Kultur, and others).
