“Ještě je” (author’s project by Vladimír Javorský)

Author’s songs by Vladimír Javorský in a chanson guise. The debut album “Ještě je” captures Vladimír Javorský’s songs in the production and arrangement care of Marian Friedl.

Vladimír Javorský is known mainly as a great film and theater actor, who has played dozens of film and theater roles. However, he also wins his audience on the music scene. Whether with solo performances with a guitar or ukulele in his hands, or as a partner of Miroslav Kemel at his concerts and albums.

The CD “Ještě je” is Vladimír Javorský’s author’s debut, on which he sings mostly his own songs and plays the guitar. The production and arrangement work, along with folk flutes, clarinet, small dulcimer and vocals, was undertaken by Marian Friedl, known, among others, for thanks to his albums Beránci a vlci (2016), 11 PODOB LÁSKY (2020) and Černobílý svět (2022). The CD also features Friedl’s long-time teammates Petra Jelénková (vocals), Štěpán Flagar (piano), Martin Kocián (double bass), Michal Wierzgoń (drums).

When processing Vlad’s songs, I tried to understand his aesthetic parameters as much as possible and then develop small intimate compositions into real songs in such a way as to underline their special indescribable charm. The result is an album that immediately draws you in and takes you through landscapes where you can relax from the heaviness of today. It radiates hope and love. You can hear a bit of chanson, jazz, classical, folk, a pinch of folk music from Eastern Moravia and Silesia or world music and much more… You will simply hear Vlad Javorský’s soul singing.

Thanks to Marian Friedl and a great band, the songs of the pig herder have become songs. Hopefully they will make you happy.
