Tommaso Carlini

Tommaso Carlini (piano) ranks among the talented young generation of Italian pianists. His solo career boasts concerts across Europe, which includes solo recitals and numerous collaborations with prestigious orchestras in Switzerland, France, Italy and England. In 2015, he recorded his first solo CD of Chopin’s piano works composed between 1838-39. This disc was created in collaboration with the greats of Sitala – Gaia Vazzoler, Michele Campanella and Mario Bortolotta – under the auspices of the famous NAXOS publishing house.

In addition to his solo career, Tommaso currently works as a teacher at the Alpenquai Music Institute in Lucerne. Tommaso is also an active composer. Among his major compositional achievements is the performance of his recital entitled “Increspature” at a world conference dedicated to the Italian composer Luigi Dalla Piccolo.

In the years 2005-2010 he studied piano at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome with Francesco Martucci. He received various awards for his graduation recital, including the “Premio Via Vittoria”, “Premio pianistico regione Lazio” and a three-month study opportunity at the “Toho Gauken” University in Tokyo, awarded by the Italia-Giappone Association. Subsequently, he studied privately with Aldo Ciccolini (2012-2014) and Giovanni Bellucci at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he obtained a master’s degree. In 2015, he began his further master’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Lucerne with the concert pianist and prominent pedagogue Konstantin Lifschitz (Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy). During these studies, he was supported by the Kurt und Silvia Huber Oesch Stiftung for his excellent results.
