Jiří Sycha is a graduate of the Church Conservatory in Kroměříž. Here he majored in violin, but also studied composition and conducting. In 2003, he became the winner of the Yamaha scholarship competition. He was then accepted to study at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen (Germany), where he studied baroque violin with professor Anton Steck with excellent results. He worked as a chamber and solo player or concert master with the ensembles Instrumenta musica Dresden, Musica Florea, Collegium marianum, Musica figuralis, Hipocondria ensemble, Concerto Avensis, Wranitzky Kapelle. During his study and concert practice in the field of early music, he collaborated with a number of renowned personalities such as P. McCreesh, A. Spering, R. Gini, T. Albert, R. Allessandrini, Ch. Toet, M. Huggett, P. Neumann, R. Lislevand, L. Russel, G.-U. Klein, L. Brünmayr-Tutz, J. Semerádová, R. Hugo, M. Štryncl, V. Luks, M. Comendant. In addition to concert activities, he teaches violin and composition, is known as an interpreter of Moravian folklore, and performs solo recitals with the excellent harpsichordist Filip Dvořák. In Tábor, where he lives, he has been conducting since 2009 Bolech Symphony Orchestra and is the dramaturg of the annual series of early music concerts called the Tábor triptych.
